Primary Purpose: 

The North America Strategy Manager is a key role within the Packaging and Rolled Products (PARP) Strategy Team.  Reporting to the VP of Strategy and Business Planning, the NA Strategy Manager is responsible for strategic planning as it relates to the development of business opportunities, managing risks associated with potential negative impacts to business, and is instrumental in fostering solid partnerships and collaborative efforts among various teams that support plans generated through strategy development. 

 

Key Accountabilities:  

  • Defines and implements long-term business strategies for North American business. 

  • Updates the company’s strategic plan, including setting objectives, defining key performance indicators (KPIs), and establishing timelines. 

  • Analyzes internal and external factors, identifies opportunities and risks, and translates strategic plans into actionable initiatives. 

  • Conducts research to understand industry trends, competitive landscapes, and customer needs. 

  • Collaborates with various teams (Sales, Operations, Finance) and senior leadership to ensure alignment and effective execution. 

  • Oversees the implementation of strategic projects and ensures project alignment with the plan. 

  • Initiating/coordinates specific projects in business development as well as industry-led projects (e.g. beverage container deposit) 

  • Works with cross functional teams, senior management, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and buy-in for strategic initiatives. 

  • Provides support in the preparation of analysis and executive presentations concerning the market, competition, financials, etc. 

  • Represents CSTM in the different trade associations like Aluminum Association (AA), Canmaker Institute (CMI) or Coalition for High Performance Recycling (CHPR) to help us to deploy our strategy. 

Leadership competencies, technical skills requirement: 

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in business or related field 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Leadership skills to motivate and guide cross-functional teams 

  • Project management skills to effectively oversee the implementation of strategic projects 

  • Business acumen and understanding of industry trends and competitive landscapes 

  • Experience in strategic planning and implementation 

  • Comfortable working in multi-cultural environment and different time zones 

  • Able to manage workload picks and ad-hoc requests 

  • Able to communicate with all levels of the organization 

  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint competencies (Power BI skills will be a plus) 

  • Fluent in English; French and/or German will be a plus 

  • Able to travel (10-15%) 

 

About Constellium Muscle Shoals:  

Constellium Muscle Shoals is a major aluminum sheet supplier for the packaging and automotive markets. The plant has ~1,200 employees and more than 112 acres under room, including five casting units, hot and cold rolling mills, and a slitting and finishing center. Muscle Shoals produces aluminum sheet for use in all three components of beverage cans (body stock, coated end stock, tab stock) and has the capacity to produce over 1 billion pounds per year of finished aluminum coils. The plant also produces aluminum automotive coils to be processed at our CALP line in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Muscle Shoals’ world-class recycling center is able to recycle the equivalent of 20 billion aluminum cans per year.
